What to expect after your procedure

Looking after your recovery
Do
- Bite gently on gauze for the first 30–60 minutes to help a clot form
- Stick to soft foods for the first few days
- Rinse gently with warm salt water from 24 hours after your procedure
- Take any pain relief as recommended by our team
- Rest and avoid strenuous activity for the first day or two
Avoid
- Smoking, which raises the risk of dry socket and slows healing
- Drinking through a straw for the first few days
- Alcohol while healing and taking pain medication
- Hard, crunchy or chewy foods that could disturb the socket
- Touching or probing the area with your tongue or fingers
