In-chair whitening is completed in a single visit at our practice. After your gums and lips are protected, a professional-grade whitening gel is applied to your teeth, and in many cases an LED light is used to help activate it. At-Home Whitening: What Happens at the Appointment

At-home whitening starts with a visit to our practice, where we take a mould of your teeth to make custom-fitted trays — this is different from generic over-the-counter trays, which rarely seal evenly against the gumline. You’re then given a professional-strength gel and shown how to apply it yourself, typically worn for a few hours a day or overnight over one to three weeks. Because you’re whitening at your own pace, at-home treatment tends to feel more comfortable for patients who are sensitive to the process, and your trays can be reused later for occasional top-ups.
